DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROCESS TO CERTIFY
1. evaluation
Wellness Tourism Destination carries out an on-site consultation of two/three days to learn about its history, distinctive elements and to evaluate the levels of compliance with respect to the certification criteria. Each standard includes an explanation that provides specific examples of what it meets.
2. Analysis
After the initial evaluation, Wellness Tourism Destination carries out an analysis of the results obtained regarding the achievement of the certification standards, with the aim of locating the destination with respect to obtaining the certification.
In this initial report, the percentage of achievement of the criteria is indicated, as well as the development of improvement plans to reach the required score (80% of the total).
3. Implementation
Once the destination receives the report with the improvement action plans, it is given 6 months to implement them. After this time, Wellness Tourism Destination will return to the destination to carry out a second evaluation, where it will check that the improvements established in the initial report have been carried out.
After this second evaluation of the destination, the level of compliance with the certification criteria will be reviewed again, obtaining the final score.
4. Certification
In the case of meeting the Wellness Tourism Destination standards, the destination will receive the certification, which will be maintained for 18 months, carrying out a control audit after 12 months, to verify that the certification standards are met.
